Product Overview & Application

Lithium Ion Batteries are truly the future of energy storage and to ensure they are able to perform safely and reliably, they need to be tested. Common failures of lithium ion batteries include undercharging, overcharging, overheating or a crack in the separating membrane. There is a vast variety of safety risks associated with any of these failures, which is specific to the product being tested.

To conduct tests on lithium-ion batteries, KOMEG offers temperature and climate chambers that are aligned with all market-relevant standards such as UL, EN, IEC or ISO, different environmental requirements or test types like: short circuit while hot, heat resistance, temperature cycling and thermal abuse, to ensure that they can survive their everyday environment.

Battery testing chambers are used in research and development, quality assurance, and battery production alike and are supplied to a variety of industries including, automotive, computer, telecommunications, defense, and alternative energy markets.

Explosion Proof Fire Suppression System	Spray device:The sprinkler device is built in the top of the inner box test area. When the battery surface temperature is much higher than the predetermined temperature value, the battery pack smokes or catches fire, the sprinkler device will automatically open, and the water pressure can be adjusted from 0.4-0.6MPa.
	Gas monitor:Detect by continuously drawing air samples in the box. When the generated H2, CO, CHx reaches a certain concentration or set value, the gas monitoring system will activate the sound and light alarm and interrupt the test and equipment.
	Pressure relief vent:The pressure relief port is located at the top. When the pressure in the equipment or pipeline exceeds the pressure of the safety valve, the pressure relief is automatically opened.
	CO2 fire extinguisher:Automatic fire extinguishing and automatic shutdown of the machine to protect the equipment from burning
	Electric smoke exhaust system:When the test sample produces harmful gas, ventilate and exhaust internally
